Literature Text
A magic unspoken;
a spell that is broken.
Away flies her dreams into silver streaked skies.
A girl that has woken
by kiss, just a token
of love from a prince who has tears in his eyes.
Forgotten thorns scattered
on earth; nothing mattered,
His flesh bramble-caught, pulled taut till it tore
His heart pitter-pattered.
A glass coffin shattered;
shard diamonds glittered the dress that she wore.
The sun blessed them both
as the pair plight their troth;
away slid the brambles at first light of dawn.
For love and their oath
had banished the growth
from the curse cast in past, so wickedly sworn.

The Angel's Sorrow
People say they want one
an angel to watch over them
to keep them from coming undone
but it is the angel they condemn.
She has such a large heart
willing to share all of her love
but she was doomed from the start
love wasn't something she could get rid of.
She gave and gave, endlessly eager
they consumed all she could give
yet they complained she was meager
she cried and only hoped they would forgive.
All she wanted was to have love in return
her heart still constantly gave and gave
trapped in silent sorrows, she was left to yearn
Forever she would be love's humble slave.
The angel went on for years without being loved
she toiled and stil

Frozen
Not all who wander are lost
And not all who are lost, wander
Many, in fact, are stuck
In time, in place, in mind
Unmoving, they search
Never finding what they lost
Because what they lost
is the key to the chains that bind them
keeping them from finding what they are missing the most
Not realizing that what they need
was there all along, hidden inside,
buried in the coils of their desperate search
Blinded by the darkness that surrounds them,
they have lost the ability to see the light

Just Let Me Go
"Just let me go" she begged
As she stood in front of him, in tears.
They both knew she'd been fighting this
For oh so many years.
"Just let me go" she pleaded
With her knuckles turning white,
The left hand clenching sleeping pills
And an empty bottle in the right.
"Just let me go" she screamed
As the bottle smashed over his head.
She'd nearly drank herself to death
To empty herself of dread.
"Just let me go" she muttered
With the barrel in her mouth.
She'd fill her skull with bullets
Before she'd once more scream and shout.
"Just let me go" she whispered
As she dangled from the ledge.
She'd been fighting for so long
They'd pushed her to t
