Been meaning to update this for ages and putting it off for some reason.  Its the same with e mails - I have a collection that needs serious pruning.
I am now rewriting a book I wrote ages ago - have put this off too but this time I really want to get published in the traditional way. The self publishing bit is all very well but promoting is a different ballgame.  I went the whole route of a related website, blogs, press releases etc., and thought it might take off and there were a few sparks initially via a regular column in a magazine (which finished about a year ago) and interest from other sources but it didn't lead any further.
I try to put one piece per week, at least, on da which I enjoy and have been neglecting the book re-write.
Where does time vanish to?  Mainly it goes into the catzone.  I have four cats. They all feed at different times. Want my attention at different times and like me to be a doorwoman on constant call, even when there is another exit handy.
My new year promise to myself was to focus on health this year - healthy diet and exercise - and rewrite the book.  Already I am back on chocolate and (gasp) potato crisps, which I had weaned myself off of at one point.  I had learned that it takes ages for the liver to process the fat from just one bag. Oh dear, it seems the poor old liver is being inundated with work once again.  As for the book, yes, I have commenced the re-writing that I started some time before Xmas but sporadically.

Anyway updating this journal is one thing I've done now!

Firstly, just would like to thank all those who favourite my poems and prose.  I do try to respond to all comments now but have been rather lax on faves.

This is the first weekend for ages where I haven't actually written anything new for DA.  Firstly I have a bug of some sort, the sniffly, achey sort of bug that makes you want to slob around, doing nothing.  Secondly I am reading a book I can't put down, published just last year by Sam Pivnik - a remarkable account of surviving Auchwitz. I have watched such stories of survival on TV but I find a book brings it to life even more.

I have put one of my older prose pieces on DA, much shorter and ruder than my usual efforts and hope that it amuses! - Another piece, in a similar vein, I put on DA previously about a recipe for granny stew went down quite well, so I hope this one follows suit.

Off now to take a pill for my aches and sniffles and back to reading my book!
